Piz Cambrena 3602m Joos Couloir
Steep, direct and impressive. A pleasure couloir of ice and rock.Piz Cambrena 3602m Joos Couloir
The Joos Couloir on Piz Cambrena is an enjoyable tour for ice and mixed climbers - steep, direct and impressive. The gully runs like a white snow snake through the northern flank. Once at the top, the summit rewards you with a sweeping view over the glacier world of the Bernina Group. A relatively short but intense tour.

Day 1
Through the Joos Couloir to Piz Cambrena
We take the first Diavolezza gondola up to the Diavolezza, then follow the hiking trail past Piz Trovat to the Pers Glacier.
Now we head up the start of the couloir with ice climbing equipment to the start of the Joos couloir. After six enjoyable pitches on ice, we reach the exit and then soon the summit on easier terrain. The descent leads us via the normal route to the foot of the wall and back to the Diavolezza mountain station.
On the sun terrace we enjoy a well-earned refreshment and a fantastic view of the Bernina massif.7–8 hours
