    • Day 1

      Arrival at the Tschierva hut

      We meet for a delicious dinner in the Tschierva hut, discuss the day's itinerary and check our equipment.

    • Day 2

      Through the north-east face to Piz Roseg

      The normal route takes us to the foot of the Piz Roseg wall.
      The steep ice and firn wall is interrupted in the lower third by a rock ledge, which we have to climb through.
      The exit from the 600-metre-high wall is close to the snow crest, from where we climb along the ridge to the main summit of Piz Roseg.

    You need to be in very good physical condition for a 10-hour day and have very good mountaineering experience. The climbing difficulties vary depending on the conditions (approx. 4th degree in rock and firn/ice up to approx. 55°).

    You meet your mountain guide at 6 pm for dinner at the Tschiervahütte SAC. You hike to the hut in around 3.5 hours from Pontresina train station. The first part of the way to the Hotel Roseggletscher can be shortened by taking a horse-drawn carriage.

    The hut access starts at Pontresina railway station. This is easily accessible with the Rhaetian Railway. The stop is called "Pontresina".

    Either in Pontresina (for a fee) and at the end of the tour take the train from the Diavolezza back to Pontresina. Or free of charge on the Diavolezza and take the train from the Diavolezza to Pontresina before the tour, where you can start the ascent to the hut in Val Roseg by carriage or on foot.

    We return to the Tschierva hut. That means you can leave your equipment there.
